I love your photos granty! Never tire of seeing a bit of the English countryside & you're right, the flowers are absolutely beautiful. That Milo is a gorgeous little dog. He obviously lives the good life!

Milo is so spoilt he sleeps in the big bed every night, but always on the wife's side. Shih tzu's may be very cute and cuddly, but they're really vicious, Milo bites me all the time, I think he's jealous because I'm the man in the house.

I was surprised the woman (I think it was a woman) did not wear a helmet when riding on the road. Compulsory here. Sometimes-not as common as it used to me, mind-you'll see dogs like that in the back of a ute.

Great pics Granty. My wife has a Yorkie Poo and a Pug. Both of them are dumber than a box of rocks. The Yorkie Poo growls and bites, while the Pug just yaps her fool head off.
Every time I walk by the pool and one of them is present, I accidentally kick them into the water. Unfortunately, they have learned how to swim to the steps and can get out.....really pisses my wife off.

And this is the country side, where you don't even see a police car, so the locals do what they want.

The village shop has the most amazing hanging baskets I've seen. It's getting on in the year, so they've withered a bit.

It's amazing how many properties are for sale around the village. Here's a link to a few, Sherri will like it. www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/Westgate-In-Weardale.html

Great link, some lovely properties listed there. Not sure of the exact conversion rate but I think most of our outer suburban homes would probably cost approx. in the 350k pound range or more while the inner city of Melbourne, the top suburbs, the sky's the limit. I could not afford to live there.
The Lakes District or the area of your photos, granty, looks like a lovely peaceful area, probably as Joe says, more like our Tasmania. I would love to visit England one day.
I quite like Victoria, the state where I live, except for the overcrowding on the roads & elsewhere that is happening. Just too many people streaming in and services can't keep up. The politicians like it as they think it is good for the economy but it is making it a nightmare to commute.
