Well, the Boxing day sales have come and gone, anyone nab a bargain?
I didn't bother going to the stores-all shopped out, plus I have a heap of cards and wrapping paper here already, don't need more.
But I think I picked up a pretty good buy on impulse.
Was browsing an online sales site here in Australia called Catch of the Day and in the member's section they had Kenwood Kcook @ $159.
I looked them up and these things are usually around the $500 mark. Good reviews. I suppose they are like the poor man's thermomix but at that price, a steal.
Got one for my daughter's birthday, so that's sorted!!
Anyone else bought anything good lately?

I nabbed an end of the year sale fron Southwest Airlines......two round trip tickets from Tampa to New York for $159 each. I'm taking my wife to a Barbra Streisand concert there.
Kind of a surprise birthday gift. Streisand is one of her favorite performers. I thought Neil Diamond would be better.......I saw him in San Antonio. Never saw so many 50-60 year old women in my life. Most of them would rush to the front of the stage, pull off their panties and throw them on the stage. I guess they thought he might autograph them, but he didn't. It was absolutely hilarious.
Anyhow, the Streisand tickets were $300 each........not a good buy there.

BWAHAHAHA....................good one Granty Thought you might like that one. The pound might be pi$$ weak against the $, but I got a pair of Levi 511 in Vegas for $40 about 30 pound (laptop hasn't got the pound sign) Priced them at the Levi shop over here the other week 90 pound, about $120. Now that's a bargain.

I read this somewhere....maybe it will help.
For the British Pound Sign......It’s a bit of a nuisance but there are ways around it. The simplest method, and this works on any word processor, email or web page, is to hold down the Alt key and press 0163 on the numeric keypad (you may have to press the NumLock key first). The only problem, for you, is that on most laptops the numeric keypad is incorporated into the keyboard (look for numbers on the U, I, O, J, K, L and M keys) and you will have to activate it by pressing a combination of Function keys, check the manual for details. For a more permanent solution you can reassign the £ sign to an infrequently used key on your keyboard (AltGr or the one to the left of 1) with a simple little freeware utility called Keytweak.
£ ....... Just worked for me on my Yankee Dell Computer.

I gave it a try out of interest. I can't get alt/0163 to print anything at all but it has changed my screen, the top & bottom tabs have disappeared.

Meant to say-great buy, granty!! My sister and her family are over in USA at the moment, I wonder what they will pick up.
They are in Hawaii at present but due to fly out and will be going on the Allure of the seas. That is a massive cruise ship that goes to the Caribbean. I think they may even pass through your way, daddyo, as I think the ship leaves from Florida?
