I had a read through that, but what caught my eye was the second report down the bottom, entitled "Will Telstra listen?"
For the non aussies here, Telstra is a (very)major service provider here-phones, internet etc
Will they listen? They certainly don't at the moment.
True experience.
My daughter & her husband and son moved into a new house early Dec. Established house though, not newly built.
The month before, the husband (John) rang Telstra to arrange internet to be connected a couple of days after they moved in. All details entered in the system, job number quote given to him, all arranged.
A week before moving in, John rang them to double check if there was an approx. time for the job, morning or afternoon, so he could arrange for someone to be there. Quoted his number-no such record of it on their system, they said.
They rebooked it.
He rang next day to check. Yep, all good, all fixed, job on the system, no worries.
His parents waited at his house all day, no one turned up. John rang-they denied any such job was logged into their system.
They discussed it, he told them (again) he had his own modem and they said they actually didn't need to come to the house, they could connect him remotely.
But not that day, they didn't know when it could be done. Maybe in a week, maybe a few weeks. No idea.
At this point John & my daughter would have gladly gone with Optus (the opposition) except it can't provide the same service speeds in that area.
Then a couple of weeks later, the internet came on.
Fast forward to last week.
John got a phone call. Telstra man saying he could book them in and come out to connect the internet for them some time this week.
Did they need a modem?
John explained he had a modem and they had already been connected to the internet for 2 weeks.
So within the hour, that man disconnected their internet service!!
John rang up Telstra, was on hold for 2 hours and told they can't reconnect him till it goes through protocol, probably in another week maybe?
I am wondering if they will know how to bill though!!
Does Telstra know how to listen? I don't think so. Incompetent.
