Happy New Year to everyone. I hope 2017 holds health and happiness for you all. We had a pleasant night. Not wildly exciting. Weather was just perfect, about 25-29c. Unlike Xmas day which was far too hot.
We had a BBQ, there were 7 of us & we were able to sit outside on the deck till late, then came in and played Yahtzee for a while.
Had forgotten any special drink but I did have some mead so we had a thimbleful of that each to see in the new year.
Saw some fireworks from the backyard but not a lot through the trees. Could hear them though.
Dogs seemed to enjoy it, it was almost a challenge for them to get out there and bark at the noise, exciting. We have one small, normally very timid little fellow called Ringo yet fireworks don't worry him, he seems to enjoy it all. Our older dog Star would rather laze around, he had to persuade her to run after him to investigate!
So all's quiet, well into 2017 this morning. All the best, everyone!

A photo from last night. It was all a bit messy but that was an excellent brew of tea. Green/soursop/rose/hibiscus. I should have taken the lid off to show you.
Photo probably taken about 11.30pm, before I got the proper wine glasses out for a toast. We had tea first.

That made me laugh. That was so like Kass.
Have had the set of tea cups a couple of years. I'm fond of the kookaburra one myself. I make a mean cuppa!

Hey I bought my Mum the same teacups. Whose up for a stoush? You know, call me "MR PEE" etc. Like before when Kass passed. MR PEE you FURKIN SHITHEAD, etc.? Funny that, he was such an unforgettable character, thanks for the reminder of his friendly stoushes with you In the meantime, so far, New Year has been good, weather beautiful. Lets hope we keep that feel-good momentum going, except for today, I was trying to back up out of Hungry Jack's driveway, because I needed to go a different exit, when a car fast approached from the front, so I stopped, and gave way, with a smile, and all I saw was an old prick mouthing off at me from closed car windows.....I thought, is he being abusive? His mouth was going up and down and sideways, thought his false choppers were going to fly out! I said to the hubby, what I saw, and his reply was, "You're kidding! In this day and age, you don't go abusing anyone on the roads because it's not like the old days, you just might get the wrong person to rile up and they will thump the crap out of you or your car. I agreed, I said, I would rather just smile and move on, slink away, no heroism being a smart alec big mouth from me. Obviously I would have loved to have said "Happy new year to you too!" So today, we went to see a movie at our local Reading cinema, they have new recliner seats and new normal seats in the theatre now, and for $15 ticket, with the reclining seats, we went to see "Passengers".....loved it! Would go see it again. So good with a big screen and all. I had special earphones for that theatre they gave me (due to hearing problems I have), and it was a fantastic experience, I was so in the zone, in the movie, in deep outer space. When we came out at midday and it was broad daylight with bright sunshine, I couldn't adjust to the normal atmosphere after getting used to being on a space mission. Strange thing is, during a certain poignant moment in the movie, I ended up with tears rolling down my face.....it was brilliant acting and just got to me, then later, hubby admitted he teared up as well! In the meantime, Happy new year to everyone, been so busy, looking for new appliances for my new kitchen to come along in February....will be posting before, during and after photos, eventually. Sherri, I saw this beautiful English dual fuel upright cooker, Professional.....the sort Jamie Oliver would have.....oh but $6,600 is a bit OTT. Catch youse all later, and also, welcome to the forum Mr. P.

Lola, just a few simple words here. Kitchen appliances-Frankston Dandenong Rd Harvey Norman warehouse (behind their regular store, just round the corner. Full of superceded models, one offs, seconds where often only the carton is damaged etc. They will tell you why it is there, they are up front. Prices less than half, often.

I did go into a Harvey Norman store yesterday and saw another cooking appliance, on special for about $1500......so I just might see what I can do about this warehouse. Thanks for the info.
