OK, I read the article, but it does not tell me WTH Vegemite is. It sounds like either some kind of compressed vegetable vitamin, or a green super laxative. What is Vegemite? Should I try and buy the franchise in Florida.......or Texas? Hopefully I'm not inquiring about a feminine hygiene product? Geez, it was yet another wonderful Aussie product the Americans bought and made American. Maybe between Sherri and myself, we can send you a sampler of Vegemite, they come in glass jars, and plastic tubes (like toothpaste), they are ideal for when travelling overseas, as I would know, I bring my vegemite with me!! Love it smeared lightly on buttered toast, has a savory tangy salty taste. Not sweet like peanut butter or jam.

I got to get a jar or tube of that stuff.

You might have some trouble laying your hands on it, daddyo. I did read somewhere that the yanks banned the stuff from coming in. I am not sure why on earth why. Since when has a yeast extract spread with vitamin B been a threat to society? If I ever go to USA, I'll be taking my vegemite.

Yeast makes bread rise................what exactly does it do to your stomach or colon or..............never mind.
And................let's not forget that women have yeast infections............OK, again, never mind. My BAD.

Stomach acid is pretty powerful, daddyo. And women eat bread without ill effect (unless they have coeliac). Vegemite is good stuff.

I never knew that. My wife has acid reflux.........so yes....... SEND ME THE VEGEMITE.BTW................Will that keep her from snoring also?

Stomach acid will kill most things, that's what I meant. Yeast extract & vit B won't cause any infection. Won't stop snoring either or it would have gone world wide by now.
I think you would probably be better starting with cheesymite, not as intense for first timers. We'll have to see about converting you.

Well no, but the stuff is black, sort of similar colour to a steak if you like it well done.

Good grief Sherri.................no respectable Texan would eat a steak "Well Done". They might just as well eat shoe leather.
Mine has to be a Rib Eye with a lot of Marbling, at least 1" thick, cooked (and timed for 5 minutes on each side (turning the steak is the MOST important way to cook on the grill), no longer than 20 minutes. It must be pink in the middle, moist and juicy, and never, ever seasoned with anything. A good piece of meat will season itself.
Serve it with baked potato and Garlic Bread, lots of butter, and voila you might just get lucky that night (meaning you won't have to do the dishes ).
Veggies.............ehhhh, not important to men.
And if you really want to get lucky......do a Key Lime Pie for dessert.
If you have any unmarried daughters............give them this recipe. Who knows, they just might bring home a Texan for dinner one night?
BWAHAHAHA..............sorry, couldn't help myself.

Communist. Well, I'll put that right up there with "Humus", which is like eating bark off of a tree'. Add enough Ketchup to it and it still tastes like shit. Hummus-I love it, I make it. I can imagine tomato sauce with it would make anyone gag though.
It's pretty healthy too. Ah well, if I ever meet you, guess I won't whip up a batch of my hummus then.
My son arrived in SF yesterday, says serving sizes in US seem large. Here's what he is eating (young ones take photos of all their food, it's a trend. In 100 years' time there might not be many photos of streets and scenes but everyone will know what we ate!).
Apparently eaten with kobe beef, noodles and cabbage. I think it must have been a Japanese restaurant.
And this for breakfast (hangover cure so he said): Apparently another massive serve, he says the bread and eggs didn't get touched. Maybe if he had had some vegemite, now, it might have been a different story with the bread.
