Me and the wife always go to the County pub on a Thursday night for our tea. I remember Rocky saying pub food is crap, and he's right, most of it's boring microwave rubbish. But not at the County, I get the mixed grill, which comes on a skillet of fried onions, still sizzling as they serve you. Oh and a jug of extra hot Peri Peri sauce.

The piece of meat at the top front looks as if it might have been taken a bit too far. My husband would like it like that but I am used to watching masterchef and their stuff barely touches the heat, half of it looks semi raw and the judges rave.
It looks like a generous serving, granty.
I don't think all pubs serve bad food, I'm off to a pub lunch on Monday!
I couldn't get the link to work, unfortunately. Just tell us the name/street and we can google map it.

its not just food shows that hardly cook a piece of meat, when my wife and kids to to england and if motherinlaw cooked a leg of lamb, my wife could not believe how little time it spentin the oven , she used to cut the outside bits for the kids as you could see the blood if you went any further. but your right sherri it all looks raw to me

If it doesn't have a bit of pinkness and blood in the middle, it's shoe leather.

Never mind, at least the mixed grill is up to my standard. the glass of beer next to your dinner looks a bit flat, i was talking about the half glass of beer and half glass of froth in the other pictures.. maybe they don't wash their lines enough, what temp do they serve beer over there ? ive got a kegerator, it goes down to minus 4 celsius, thats a perfect temp i reckon

No way Rocky. Every pub serves an ice cold pint with a frothy head, otherwise people ail drink their beer elsewhere.

If the beer in that glass came to the table like that, it's the fault of the bar.
If it's like that after a few swigs, it's from something on your lips.
Probably from something you ate.
Beer foam is often killed by the many salts and spices on the foods we eat nowadays.
Drink faster.

I've probably had a beer (or more) in all the bars in South Shields which were around before I left in 1967.
My favourite was the Marsden Inn.
I used to live in the Scotch Estate in Primrose near Boldon Colliery Train Station and I used to walk a few hundred yards to the Australia Estate in Shields where I caught the Blue Bus to the Marsden Inn.
I always sat on the front seat upstairs because I used to love the view as the bus came over a hill and the view of the North Sea opened up.
