Was just idly glancing through an article on the internet about the royal wedding & the caterers. Apparently they are a fashionable mob & do modern style meals. The article showed a photo. Don't know if it is one of theirs from a previous event or just an example of 'modern' dining but have a look at this. Is that just a big plate or is that a small meal? I'd be embarrassed to serve that meal on that plate, it looks ridiculous. Very pretty & all but in miniature. It isn't what 'sumptuous' means to me. If that's fine dining, give me the bistro!!

Just been to the local pub, and had the Jumbo mixed grill with two pints of Heineken. Better than any of that royal rubbish

i am only thinking that a royal menu would have lots of cources maybe 6 or 8 and they are like a tappas size meal on huge plates .

That one would look better on a bread & butter sized plate. I once went to a fashionable little restaurant in Glen Waverley with the girls from work. They had 4 'courses' Each course was one very small thing. They came out on a plate for sharing and honestly, if you see a plate of mini dim sims, you'd think maybe 2 or 3 per person, but nope, it was one each. Cost for the lunch? $40. I think I'll stick to the Hallam pub bistro with 3 courses for $14 (seniors meal. Only plus about being a senior ) I'm looking forward to watching some of the royal wedding. Maybe not the whole thing but I want to see her dress and what all the high society folk wear.

No way Rocky, the pub I go to is a sizzling grill where the meal comes sizzling on a hot skillet with loads of onions. KFC don’t make me laugh.

Just wait till you're 60, Rocky. Then the seniors card gets you a decent priced meal in the bistro. Decent sized too. Plus often a $2 voucher to go towards anything. Meant to encourage you to try the pokies I think but it'll be a cold day in hell before they get money out of me. I always put it towards a coffee.

I always put it towards a coffee. turned 60 last month sherri, when im in launceston the nearest pubs to the bus stop don't do very good meals price wise, bought a hamburger and chips a few years back $17 bloody good burger but at that price never again. there's one pub the bus goes past that does a deal, but its too much of a hassle to go there, getting off the bus and having to catch another one later on. never play the pokies, accept for a couple of times, lost $350,000, let me rephrase that, i didn't win $350,000 if i had big money i wouldn't blow it in the pokies or the casino ever bought kfc at catering prices ? check 'em out, i love their wicked wings, minimum spend for a catering price of anything is $45 that'll get ya 60 wicked wings, (75c each opposed to $1 each) that makes 3 or 4 meals for me, so ends up pretty cheap.. i cant stand kfc chicken breasts so i don't buy buckets or stuff like that, love the legs and wings, but with wicked wings its never mixed with breast and the coating is better than original.

We've a KFC & a maccas round the corner from here but I can't say I am a big fan of either of them. The shopping centre itself has a fish & chip shop which I prefer, though it can be hit or miss-either absolutely fabulous or limp disappointing chips. I think it depends on if you get the fresh batch or not, I am not sure. I also really like wok'd. They do a really good fried rice combo. Not cheap though.
Endeavour Hills is a dry suburb but within a short drive there are a few hotels that do a decent senior's meal deal. Can't claim we go often but I've been toying with the idea maybe we should go once a week or once a fortnight for lunch & just have soup or something simple for dinner.
