Sometimes I think the new improved versions of things are more trouble than they're worth.
Couple of examples.
1. Automatic windows in cars. Give me the wind up & down version any time because they can be used whether the car is stationary or not. Sit in a new car and feel a bit hot, can't do a thing because the car is off & You haven't got the keys.
2. Automatic plugs in sinks. Hate them. The kitchen type slowly leak. The bathroom type (push in, push again to release up) are okay when they work but sometimes they *stick*. This happened to us in the bathroom recently. Basin full of water, no way to release the plug, couldn't get a screwdriver in between to wedge it up. What to do? Turns out we're not the only people to have this problem. Googled it & here's a tip. You know those little round plastic sticker feet things that are sometimes attached to ornaments or whatever & stick on the window? Place one of those on the stopper, push it down to seal, slowly pull up. it creates a vacuum & presto, sink stopper is up. But we never had this trouble when we had plain old plugs with a finger loop.
Anything else you can think of that is new but not necessarily better?

I didn't realise some cars have automatic lights. Just thinking, all those stories & movies where the people turn off their lights when they are following the baddies, they're going to be sprung now.
And something else I had not thought of. All the electronic cards that hotels and other places use now instead of keys.. they are all able to be monitored and recorded, right down to whether it is likely you are entering a room or leaving it. Not that most places would bother, I know. But they could be, by anyone who wanted to & had the equipment.
