Estra's been taken lessons now for over a year, and good old dad's been paying for them, and she's still no nearer to taken her test. So she's been nagging me for weeks now to buy her a car so she can get more experience so she can sit her test. They're allowed to drive as long as there's a driver with them who's held a licence for over three year. She won in the end because I couldn't take any more of the "BUT DADDDD" well what can a poor boy do?

Good idea for her to have a car so you can take her out for extra time on the roads. Similar thing here, a new driver has to build up so many hours before they can go for a licence.
How old is Estra now? Over here, the kids tend to start their lessons at about 17 and practically the day they turn 18 they are in there for their licence. Mind you, they don't always get it. My middle daughter failed her test first time around. She was okay on the practical-the test drive & questions-but flunked the computer simulated drive as she didn't touch the screens exactly right. Luckily she got it second time around as it was a major expense to re-sit etc

BWAHAHAHA.....Granty My 15 year old Granddaughter has been pestering me to give her my 2009 Lincoln.....which is my "backup" car when mine is in the shop. She has a "Learners" permit which allows her to drive with an adult in the car. I keep telling her "No Way Jose" I love this car. I did tell her that I would buy her a 1953 Chevy pickup truck (Almost impossible to destroy) and her reaction was "What's That?" Much different values today................sigh BTW........did you notice the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car? For 4,800 Pounds, You would think they would get that right?

Different values, you're right, it's all about 'status'. Have you seen the expression on Estra's face knowing she's getting a nice little girly car that will be the envy of all her friends? You can't put a price on that, as you'll see on your granddaughters face.
