what is wrong with these huge businesses. the australian open tennis this year the water brand is made in china , how stupid is that to save a few cents , and they tell us to buy australian made, mmmmmmmmmmmmm i have no problems with buying goods made in china as you all know just about everything is made in china but water, its going to kick them in the but as the news and radio have got hold of it. crazy

I think it is absolutely crazy. Some products I can understand, but not water. In all honesty, our water is likely to be purer. It's a bit like all the frozen fruit scandals. You might save a few cents but it's not worth it sometimes.
Disgusting organisation by Australian Open & I bet the CEO gets paid millions.

Don't you remember the 2008 summer Olympics in Beijing? The water was so polluted many of the teams refused to swim in it.
Why in the world would anyone drink water from China?

Well, if you were in China you might have to, but I don't see why our organisers would import the stuff!
I do have a friend who has done the full china tour (and must admit I wouldn't mind seeing the place) and she said the hotels they stayed in were first class, no complaints about the food or water.
Vietnam she also enjoyed but the standards varied from very good to a bit questionable, she said there was a definite difference, with China obviously more prosperous.
We make perfectly good bottled water here & it would make much more sense to use that.
