Went into Coles supermarket today and there they were- big displays of hot cross buns.
Easter must be coming, even if we're not out of December yet!
Is mine the first sighting? have any of you seen them in your stores yet?

The only first sighting I want to see is the Crocus' popping up. Love nothing better than spring.

Happy new year to you, granty. I quite like our Autumns here. The weather seems more settled and warmer but no chance of blistering heat.

What are these not cross buns I see people talking about, Joe? I was thinking a X for most months then maybe a + leading up to Easter to ring the changes. Yours would almost be a nought cross bun.

but a [ x ] will look like a + if the bun was turned a bit so an [o] would be diferent and can be called [hot circle buns out of season] but an [x] is a cross , and theyb would also be called hot cross buns out of seasons , lol anyway i like them and they should be sold all year round but have a different symbal on them out of season maybe a single stroke hot line buns lol

my husband likes them. There needs to be something piped on them as that crunchy bit is what makes them.

You're sure to, it sounds as if you're due one.
Mild here today but it's supposed to be quite hot on Saturday (41c). Prefer it mild to tell the truth.
