Came across this one I never knew about before: During WWII, an American plane fell on the Japanese island of Chi Chi Jima. There were 9 men aboard this plane, 8 of whom were captured and eaten alive. The only survivor of this tragic event was George H W Bush, who years later became the President of the United States.
Pretty horrific. I bet he was glad he avoided that fate but what a dreadful thing to see happen to your mates. And what sort of people eat others alive??
There are more than 200 cadavers on Mount Everest, the majority of which are used as path indicators for the climbers.
I won't be climbing it any time soon anyway. These days a couple of hours wandering a shopping centre is enough to wear me out. Hitler's plans for capturing Moscow were to kill all the inhabitants and substitute the city for a lake.
What a charmer he was. Some sort of a greenie. Your house is ten times more likely to catch fire than it is to be robbed.
One of my friends has had both happen to her. You never think your place will burn down but it can happen. hers was when she had a boarder who had a cheap candle, caught a curtain & the house went up. She wasn't insured. Was able to rebuild most of it but it took a while.
Anyone know any other unusual facts?

No one got any? Well, here's another sort of weird one. This is an optical illusion. I can't see it, no matter how hard I try. It is a cigar, facing outwards. Apparently if you cover the top & bottom third all should become clear. Doesn't work for me but let me know if you can see it. To me it looks like a mouse in brickwork.
