What's the most you've ever won in some gambling sort of game-maybe a lottery, horse racing bets, poker machine etc?
I was just reflecting I don't have much luck with there sorts of things, lucky I don't ever bet much.
We had the Melbourne Cup earlier this week here in Melbourne. Big race, had a few family members over & ran a sweep between ourselves. Put in $1 per horse & there was a big field, maybe 23 or so? There were 5 of us & I was one who ended up with 5 horses. Not a place amongst them, & that included the prize for last.
Probably my biggest win was with my sister in law about 10 years back when we won about $600 on tattslotto.
I used to run a Lotto syndicate at work where we had $35 a week & in over 20 years it won nothing higher than about $1000 one time. I know these things are mathematically set to make you lose but sheesh, it was a lesson on the evils of gambling.

From what my sister in law tells me, her son is a very good poker player (not that she could be biased or anything ). I think he did well in some junior Victorian championships but he's in his 20s now & working at Crown Casino. I'd be pretty sure he has heard of those champions although I have to admit I hadn't. Great prize money though!!
