Hurricane Ophelia is now slamming the British Isles. My guess is that Granty is not fishing the "Rocks" today. Ophelia was the 10th Tropical Storm to develop into a Hurricane this year. She came out of the west side of Africa, crossed the Atlantic towards America, but due the high pressure in the USA (because of all of the other Hurricanes we have seen recently), she veered Northeast again crossing the Atlantic and slammed into Ireland and then did a path from Dublin to Glasgow. She wasn't a full blown Hurricane by this time, but nevertheless, she had winds of 120 mph when she hit Ireland and winds of 85 mph when she hit Britain. I am guessing she went right over the roof of Granty, or damn close to it. I hope you faired out well my friend. Tropical storms/Hurricanes are a real pain in the ass. I'm still asking myself "Why the heck did I leave Austin"? All I can come up with is the "Power of the Princess" www.thesun.co.uk/news/4667902/hurricane-ophelia-path-storm-uk-weather-news/

We barely got a sniff of the storm here on the North East coast of England. I've been neglecting the rocks this summer because of my new weekend home at the caravan. I was hoping the wind was going to swing 'South Easterly" to lift the sea to bring in the Autumn Cod, but it blew South Westerly and flattened the sea, (no good for the Cod). But I did manage this Lobster. There's only two weeks left at the caravan, then the site shuts down for the winter, and opens up again in April. So I'll be back down the rocks.

Sweet. What a nice catch. Water is way too warm here for any decent shell fish. They fly in Lobster from Maine down here. Oh well, we do have South Beach instead. Those can be pretty nice catches also.........if you know how to land them.

I know, the first time I went to Florida I was in Walmart admiring the fresh live Maine Lobsters. I'll see if I can dig up the photo.

photobucket is useless now, they expect you to take out a subscription & if you only want to post the occasional photo it isn't worth it. Imgur is free at the moment & easier & quicker to use. We saw pics on the news of the storm activity in Ireland & parts of UK.

You're right Sherri, photo bucket is a waste of time. I don't know what happened to that photo I put up, but I know you seen it a few times now.
