I'm not best pleased with Australia post today.
On Tuesday last I received a card to say they had attempted a parcel delivery, no one home, so to take the card to Endeavour Hills post office to pick up.
Fair enough. Was ready to set off this morning to pick it up when I saw an email from Aust Post to say it had been delivered. It hadn't. Must be a mistake I thought. I'll head into the PO anyway & show my card.
But about 15 minutes later there was a knock at the door. A man who lives in Haverstock Hill close in Endeavour Hills found the parcel on his doorstep. Luckily he was honest and drove it round to us.
But this parcel is a reasonably expensive one from Catch of the Day, the address label is clearly printed and also clearly on it is the instruction of signature required on delivery!!
No one signed for it. The only thing in common between us and the man is the same surname but our surname is a common one, why wouldn't the person delivering it use the address on the label?

the only thing i can think off is that person in haverlock hill had another parcel for him and the driver saw 2 parcels for the same name. strange you were carded and someone else has got your parcel. its getting bad now the postie now delivers small parcels and satchels , which is not a problem but if there is a parcel they drop it off at your door , but the problem is they leave your letters there , the other day i saw a letter in the bushes ,prob the wind blew the letter there from the front door , lucky it ws not important. all i can say lucky your name is not smith or brown . the chap in haverstock hill prob signed for it. you are lucky he brought it to you it saved you all the hassels later.

You're right there, Joe. What a headache if it had not arrived & I'd been trying to prove I didn't have it. Hopefully the GPS trackers the delivery people have would have shown it at the wrong place, but who knows!
Letters should always go in the letter box. Just slack leaving them loose on a parcel.
Our postie is really good but I'd bet he isn't the one delivering parcels. We usually get guys in vans, with minimal English.

How right you are. My 2 daughters have been turned off voting at all, full stop. My older daughter said she was going to vote yes, has no objection to gay people marrying but she doesn't like the bullying tactics so she's not voting at all. certainly doesn't want to vote against it but won't vote yes either now. My other daughter just isn't interested and said she isn't sure so just won't vote. Amazing how many young ones aren't going to bother, but for sure, being hassled to vote yes & people being sacked if they dare say no is turning voters off, not winning votes. Shame really.

hey joe, your post made me remember I heard my phone ring late last night. Just checked now & yep, it was marriage equality after my vote too. My message came through at 11.12pm so it says. I don't even know where they got my number from!!
