My daughter in law works for a publishing firm that is having a conference at the moment in San Francisco. So she is over there for the week to give a presentation. On the weekend, one of the other women in the firm, one who lives in SF, took her around. My daughter in law and my son were over there back in Jan and had a great time but he had work this week so couldn't go.
I thought it might be relaxing to share some of her photos of her weekend-nothing like armchair travel.
Have you spent much time in SF daddyo? This is the only US city Jess has seen as it is virtually fly in, fly out.
Harley's goat farm. The rolling hills remind me a bit of parts of country Victoria.
A coffee shop, daughter in law on right.
In a marine national park. Fitzgerald marine reserve if I have it right.
D-I-L in the coral.
Looks a bit warmer there than it is here at the moment, although can't complain, it has been sunny enough, just cool.

And oh my goodness, looks as if she saw a Gay pride parade there. Sort of bemuses me as there have been a couple of reports of teen girls being ordered out of US shopping malls for indecency & from the pics, they looked fine-just shorts and T shirt, same as you would see in a lot of Australian shopping centres mid summer. Yet people dress like this in the parade and no one turns a hair.

Did you win much at poker? My husband has a nephew who is apparently a crash hot poker player. He now works in the casino. Loves it. He runs some of the poker games or something. It's shift work mainly, at nights, but that suits him.

If you go to San Francisco in the summer. Make sure you take plenty of warm clothing, it's colder than South Shields.
Mark Twain's famous comment about SF was "The coldest winter of my life was spent in San Francisco one summer". And it is true. The wind that comes off the Pacific is bone chilling even in the summer.
Yes Sherri, I've been to San Francisco several times, As you can see, there is a large gay population there, and last week was "Gay Pride" events throughout the US. I suggest your daughter-in-Law stay away from Castro Blvd., as this is where the majority of them hang out. Pun Intended.
But Harley's goat farm is not anywhere near SF. it is about 50 miles or so south of the City. And, I've been there.......not sure why now. The second photo you posted reminds me of my ex-wife.
Your daughter-in-Law needs to visit Ghirardelli Square.......chocolate, chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate. A woman's paradise.
Also, Pier 39 is pretty cool if you like shopping. Whatever she does......do not rent a car in SF. The parking fees are twice the cost of the rental. I've never seen anything like it in my life....$50 for two hours parking. Take a cab.

The goat farm is just a little way out of town then. It does look to be countryside. It would probably be like someone coming to Melbourne and saying they went to Healesville Sanctuary. It is associated with 'Melbourne" but a few km out.
As for parking costs, I think the woman with her drove her around. I hear you on parking fees, it is the same all over Melbourne. But the cost of a rental here would be triple the car park fees min most likely so an expensive exercise.
