IT seams to be growing all the time .now a few years ago i spoke with a compulsive thief for hours , he is now retired, sounds funny retired thief lol. he told me all about his scams , most interesting talk i have ever had. anyway another time for that. last night i saw a scam geting unfold in front of my eyes, i went to kfc in dandenong drive thru, to order some chicken. i asume from where you live you have drive thrus order at a speaker pay next window and get your order at the last window all with sitting in your car. there was 2 cars in front of me , the first car was talking to the speaker then went off to pay section but the second car did not stop to order at the speaker, very odd i thought anyway i go to the speaker and ordered. i see the first car pay for his order but the second car just drove behind him , i then paid for my order, the first car was picking up there order but this time the second car stoped and got his order , when i got to pick up my order , i got a different order , then it clicked in my small brain that car 2 collected my order and i got the car behind me order. anyway they fixed up our orders , so car 2 got my order for free [should of ordered the zinger hot meal that would of burnt his mouth]

I haven't heard of that but as soon as you said the second car drove through without ordering, I figured out what could happen! Don't they have a videocam at all at the order board? It would make sense for them to put one in, as if they saw a car drive through without saying anything, they could be onto it. I am surprised when the car did not stop to pay, the cashier could not send a message through to the next booth that 2 cars were 'together' & to only serve the first one. One of my daughters got a job at Dande KFC a few years back. A lot of years actually, now I think about it! She was about 17 then and she is 33 now. She only lasted a week. Back in those days, the floor at the back was under a couple of inches of water & pretty grubby, she said. I'm sure it would be run a lot better these days though joe & hope your burger was delicious!!
You're right about scams & hard sell artists. If I get another cold call from an 'NBN expert', I will scream. I just quietly hang up on them now. I have had enough.

your prob right about cameras , but the person collecting the money is not there all the time , they are getting orders together and multi tasking , even if they had cameras ,its not worth it for lets say $10 [in theory they gave the 2nd car the meal ] they should of asked for the reciet but i have never been asked for a reciet ever in my life.

You're right, that's the solution, they should ask for the receipt. I can't say I have ever been asked for one either.
I was reading that supermarkets are getting scammed by people using self serve. I don't know what the people do-whether they don't scan things or weigh fruit & vegies under the wrong names or whether they just make mistakes. But the shops bring this on themselves to some extent. I am sick of our local coles-you're lucky to find one normal checkout open & you end up in self serve with a full trolley and a tiny little place to scan it all on & juggle things. No wonder people get confused.

The KFC should turn it into the police, even though it is a misdemeanor. In the US, the third misdemeanor equals a felony and thus.......jail time.
Lock the Bastard up. No more of the "Catch & Release" program in AU.

They wouldn't even get a fine here, most likely. I'd guess the person would just claim a lapse of memory or extreme youth (at 18 or 19 they expect to vote & drink etc but yell blue murder to be judged as adults rather than juveniles).

The vote at 18?
Draft them and put the in the Australian Army.....feed them Army food for 2-3 years. That would be the best lesson they could learn.

they prob get kfc in the army here lol i understand what your saying daddy o , like sherri said at worst they might have to pay for the meal. but personly ita a lesson kfc and any other chain of fast food should do is ask for the receit, i mean they get the receit when paying , and not a regular but have never been asked before

Joe, it would be a basic way for them to operate and if the scam gets more common I guess it is exactly what they will do.
Another thing that has always shocked me has been airports. I was totally taken aback the first time I flew (as an adult) to find that suitcases just went on a turnstile and anyone could just grab whichever one they owned (or wanted) and walk off.
Same when we went on the Ghan (train). Suitcases unloaded in a neat pile on the station, grab your bag and away you go. What's to stop a suitcase being stolen? I bet a few have been. Just wander over, stand there (in disguise, given they have CCTV these days) and take off with one.
