Had to laugh at this Mexican stand off. An iguana, holds it own against a family of Coaties.

Thanks Sherri. We were staying at a resort right in the jungle, about 50 mile south of Cancun, commercialised it wasn't. Anyway, we had to pay a departure tax of $65 per person to get out of the country, can Daddy-O tell us what that's all about?

You pay a departure tax to leave Australia too. It's a lovely little extra govt tax, surprised the Brits haven't got onto it by now. Last time I heard it was about $20 here, but as far as I recall, we have never had to actually hand over $20. It is like GST costs on products, it is just added to your airfare quote if you are flying out of the country.

When we returned from Cancun last year and Cabo San Lucas this year, there was no departure tax. Next time.......just hijack the plane. OK, if there are any FBI reading this board, I was kidding....unless, of course, I get the official OK from the "Trumpster"......then I become bullet proof.

Granty - The Iguana reminds me of the era when I visited Puerto Vallarta during the "Love Boat" craze (take a deep breath Sherri....it wasn't that big).
On the beach there were guys that would come by with Iguanas on their shoulders and offered to take a picture with the Iguana on your shoulder......for a fee, of course.
My ex-wife thought this would be great fun...........right up to the time the Iguana crapped all over her newly acquired attire that she bought a few hours earlier in downtown Vallarta.
I never laughed so hard in my life. When we got home, she tore up that photo........no sense of humor at all with that woman.

In the jungle, you have to be careful where you put your beer, those pesky Coaties are everywhere.

Nothing worse than a drunk Coatie......other than maybe a drunk Gator.
Funny......the girl texting is not paying any attention to what is going on around her.

The young ones spend most of their waking hours looking at a screen rather than anything around them, I swear! Whatever is on facebook is probably more interesting to her than anything happening around her. It's a shame.
Me, I had to look up coati online, I had never heard of them, have never seen one. They look like interesting little creatures!
