I'm loving looking back at some old photos on the internet. This one is from the 1950s. Daddyo may be able to tell us if it is a lot different now as I think it is from around his region.
It doesn't look awfully safe with all those cars on the sand. I wouldn't be sunbaking right behind one as I can see one woman doing, but maybe that is her car.
And this one is a really old photo. I think it is the American civil war but if it is, I don't know which side they would be from, I am surprised the caption doesn't say.

Virginia was a Confederate State.
Daytona Beach in 1957..................I'd give anything to be there.

That photo has a real '50s feel, doesn't it. Really carefree. The sand in that area must be (or must have been) very firm as on a lot of our beaches, your car would get bogged in seconds if you tried that.

There is a thin line between Brave and Stupidity...............I think he just crossed it.

I believe you're right.
How he got the car there I don't know either. Or why. I wouldn't have liked to have to back out of that spot.

And here's another. I don't imagine it will change your mind about cruising though.

Such a waste, with you living in Florida and all. Near some of the best cruise ships on earth.

Love this photo. Hard to believe it is over 140 years ago. Deadwood, Sth Dakota 1876. I wonder what it looks like now. And how eerily lonely does the Empire state building look here. 1941
