Australian slang that is. While looking at the "net", I stumbled on to a website that talks about what the heck Aussies are talking about. Here's the URL: www.fluentu.com/english/blog/australian-slang-words/G'Day Mate.........See ya in the Arvo. Now then, where did I leave me slouch hat?

My dad always used the term this arvo. It is easy to say, isn't it, and faster.
I just looked at the list, expecting it to be full of whacky stuff but it wasn't, it was full of everyday commonly used terms.
Don't people in USA have a cuppa?
I haven't heard of lappy, not many older people call a laptop that and most youngies don't use laptops, they use their phone to surf the net. Or petty for petrol-I don't think that is overly common. But apart from those 2, the rest are the norm.
As for maccas, even they call it that themselves in the ads on TV.

Your post reminded me of a couple of older piccies I have saved, of my granddaughter. From about Aug 2015. The T shirt top she has on. It says My dad's a tradie.
He is, too. He is what we usually call a brickie (a bricklayer).
