But at least we nudged out the Aussies........or did we? The Best Country Rankings have just been released. The USA dropped 4 spots (I blame it on Trump ). Now we're down to #7 overall, but still at #1 for best military.
So, where do others lie? Take a gander:

I don't believe any of those things. I like looking at them when I'm bored, and I know they talk a load of crap. I know, because I've seen some of those places with my own eyes. I've been to Norway a few times, and it is really nice, (and very expensive) The UK is a dump, full of old towns with terraced streets, and cobbled backlanes.
The best city I've ever been to is San Diego, yet it doesn't even get a mention in any of those 'best places to live' things.

I agree with you Granty. San Diego is the most pristine city I have ever stayed in. It was a wonderful visit ...........both times.

I'm with granty, not sure how much trust I put in those. They have some good points in that at least countries such as Iran aren't likely to make it to the top but when it comes down to it, a lot of it is just opinion.

Exactly Sherri, it's opinion. I look at how people live, by the quality of their houses and surroundings.
The biggest dump I've ever seen is Cairo, they're not living, they're barely existing.
