Is playing in theatres in Melbourne now. It is a live show. One of my facebook friends-a woman in her 50s- went to see this show last night. Now, this woman is a very outgoing type, laughs a lot, enjoys naughty jokes and a good wine etc. Lovely lady but no one could ever accuse her of being straight laced.
Here is what she had to say about the show: Well no one could ever consider me a prude but goodness me what a lot of crap this show was. Left after the first half. Have never walked out of a theatre in my life. $106 down the toilet. Some of the gems from this "show"... F*** God in the eye. Baby Rape and women being circumcised is not my idea of entertainment.
It makes me wonder. These people who write the shows-would they dare to write one like this and call it Book of Qu'ran. And if they did, would the govt be jumping up and down and claiming it was offensive and should come off?
I'm not particularly religious but what I am seeing is a constant sniping at Christianity in our society, to undermine any authority it might have. But the muslim religion is taken very seriously indeed.

There are two sects of Mormons in the USA. The initial Mormons and the Mormons that come from the " Church of the later day saints". The later are Christians who have reformed their image to acceptable US Laws, and the former are believers in the "Old Testament". In the Old Testament, God handed out wives, child wives, etc. to men that kowtowed to the God Almighty. And these people, even today, have multiple wives...14 year old girls as wives are not uncommon and do not conform to any civil laws, other than their own. Think of them along the same line as Radical Islamics. The Church of the Later Day Saints however adhere to the one wife....one misery rule (that was a joke) and usually to the New Testament, as well as all appropriate laws within their locale. Perhaps you have heard of Warren Jeffs from West Texas? if not....read this: www.nytimes.com/2008/04/05/us/05jeffs.htmlHe is still in jail BTW. It sounds to me like your friend went to a play similar to " Jesus Christ Superstar, which was an opinioned view of Hey_Sues's life". It's simply entertainment....and certainly not for everyone's pallet. Don't forget that the founder of Mormonism in the mid 1850's was Joseph Smith, who lived in Missouri (if I remember correctly). People were outraged by his activities and he was eventually hanged for being a horse thief.......so much for being "God Like". Brigham Young then led his followers from Missouri to Utah and developed the city of Salt Lake. The Church of the later day saints is a very large church these days and owns a controlling interest in Pepsi Cola...................imagine that? Most of the Old Testament Mormons are in Jail. Polygamy was outlawed in the early 1900's on this side of the pond........thank God. One wife is hard enough to deal with, but two, three, four.....................ye gads.
