www.cbc.ca/news/world/human-chain-saves-family-in-water-1.4199181
That was a nice story, where 80 people got together to make a human chain to rescue a family from a rip.
My problem from the links though (and I may not be using the website right) is that when I clicked on 'world' news, it didn't show much of a range and half the stuff on the side is still about Trump anyway.

It's a card you get after a fairly rigid security check enabling you to cross the border between Canada and the USA. The customs booths have a dedicated lane which enables users to just show the card and get through, which often bypasses a long lineup. They still send people randomly to secondary checks, so it isn't a smuggle to your heart's content card. It's used by the likes of the thousands of Canadian nurses without whom Detroit hospitals would grind to a halt and the thousands of Americans who have second homes here in the "Banana Belt" of Canada

I don't know that the man had his card revoked because of the 'sound' of his name. I would bet it has more to do with his dual nationality.
I'm not saying they made the correct call in this particular case but I can see the point in racial profiling in some circumstances. For instance, recent migrants from places such as Syria/Iran/Afghanistan etc might be more likely to have ties with terrorists. It would be wrong to assume they all do but no harm in double checking backgrounds.
Reminds me of my dad a long while ago. He said it was wrong of police to target roads outside hotels for drink driving checks as that wasn't random, it was making assumptions.
My argument is they were logical assumptions, made sense.

You do know who our President is.....right? And yes, I would believe his card would be rejected simply if his name sounded differently than most Americans.
And lastly..............there are no "logical assessments" made by any government. That would be the true definition of Oxymoron.

The Banana Belt.......LMAO
Thanks Beachy. There is no NEXUS in Texas. You want to go to Mexico, you wait in line......very long lines.
I remember, back in the early 60's, when Willie Farah (Lebanese) had his clothing plant in El Paso (Farah Slacks), he would send busses to the border to pick up Mexican seamstresses and transport them to his factory. All of that kind of died when the drug lords took over Juarez, and Willie went bankrupt. He couldn't find any Americans to take the jobs.
