You can change that Sherri.....................their called elections.
Run for office.....make a difference.
I have placed my name into nomination for City Councilor in my town. I'm tired of these idiots spending my tax dollars on stupid things.
Time for a change.

Good luck. We have 3 levels of government here too. Federal, state and local, as in local council. I expect local council (which charges rates to every home owner in the municipality) to look after things such as garbage collections, local parks & planning-things to enhance & improve our local area. I was annoyed a while back when several local councils got involved in what I would call state politics-they gave funds to groups opposed to something called the East West link road. The East west link rd was not going to be anywhere near here-not in our local area at all. It was a state govt issue with state elections coming up anyway. And opinion was divided on the topic. Personally I think we desperately needed it but inner city greenies think we should cycle everywhere. But what I most objected to is local council giving my rate money to other groups that have nothing to do with developing our area. They seem to do this a lot. Then we read that one of the local councils is going to start charging an extra, separate charge for garbage collection, on top of rates, because it can't afford to pay for them now-claims ratepayers expect them to look wider.
I would like to know which ratepayers.
So I can see why you have put your hat in the ring & I think you would make a sensible candidate. Good luck with it all!

PS The only way to change the deportation or immigration rules though would be by getting into federal parliament and I'd be pretty sure I am way too late for that. We have a real problem here. Huge one. The govt, lawfully, orders some criminals to be deported. This is never done lightly, they always have a long or vicious criminal history. But in a lot of cases recently, the Administrative Appeals Tribunal overturns them. In nearly every case. There's a lot in the papers about it and so far, I haven't come across one person who is happy about it. www.heraldsun.com.au/blogs/andrew-bolt/criminal-not-deported-rapes-again/news-story/797ce242b64a1327cef35fa6cc675d5eThis is part of Bolt's report. I wish I could show you all of it but the newspaper seems to limit it to subscribers.
