We're back off to Nebs' cottage tomorrow night again, only we couldn't get booked at our usual B&B because there's a big event on this weekend. It's the 'coast to coast' were thousands of cyclists peddle from the West coast, to the East coast, and St John's chapel is half way on the route. Nevermind, we got booked into the pub across the road, and it's pet friendly. But we could only get a room with bunk beds. www.google.co.uk/maps/uv?hl=en&pb=!1s0x487c2d013bb96c47:0xbe43e49804aeb0ff!2m19!2m2!1i80!2i80!3m1!2i20!16m13!1b1!2m2!1m1!1e1!2m2!1m1!1e3!2m2!1m1!1e5!2m2!1m1!1e4!3m1!7e115!4shttps://picasaweb.google.com/lh/sredir?uname%3D113203481726546774802%26id%3D6324266833921353026%26target%3DPHOTO!5sthe+golden+lion+st+john's+chapel+-+Google+Search&imagekey=!1e3!2s-Yoj-Jtvj8Jg/V8RPLZSqpUI/AAAAAAAAtf8/vMcHXuiILRoznC5505NDuoXyEc2Oojb9ACJkC&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjNtc_61PzTAhWhDMAKHd8xC7gQoioIlQEwCg

Here we go, there's me proudly showing off my South Shields hoodie, next to the bunk beds. 4-0 Sandies forever. And here's what the place looks like from the outside. Note the car.

Sherri - Read the book "Flags of our Fathers" and you'll know what the allied forces endured in Iwo Jima. it became the ultimate pinnacle of hatred for my Dad. After watching what the Gooks did in Vietnam, I know what he went through. I'm very glad I returned, and very glad many of them didn't. A win-win for me.

Yes, I can understand why you don't care for them. My mother never overly cared for Germans or Japanese. That's not to say she hated the individuals as we had German neighbours she got on well with. But she thought Germans as a whole were cold, heartless people and the Japanese sadistic & evil. Dad, strangely, was more open about nationalities but was very against the change of focus in migration here, where Asians were given preferential treatment and it was made harder for the British to come here.

We've just booked for Nebs' cottage again this Saturday night, only couldn't booked in the pub or the B&B, but the bloke in the pub has got a caravan that he rents out. Take it, or leave it, so we've took it.

It's summer over your way, so a caravan will be fine. You probably won't be spending much time in it anyway.

It sounds as if you could almost be here in Victoria. Our temps have been around that, maybe even a touch higher some days, and only the occasional shower. It's the rain that can wreck a day more than that temp.
